butters is someone that marlene considers her hero. he saved her from heartless and he makes her feel welcome. she is very close to him and thinks he's great.
to be honest, in spite of living with bruce, she doesn't really know him all that well. seems like a good person and butters likes him. so she'll give him a shot.
