APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY β¦
Eyes β’ Deep Brown β On a normal day when she's feeling like a normal being, she has normal looking brown eyes with no strangeness to them. They change with her form changes.
Variations:
β’ Yellow Iris: ( Werewolf ) Iris becomes yellow and glows albeit eerily when becoming overwhelmed with or accessing her wolfish capabilities. This does not include typical attributes such as heightened senses of smell and hearing since those are every day occurrences for her.
β’ Solid Red: ( Harpy ) Pupil, iris and sclera all become bright red when she's as a harpy ( or beginning to change into one )
Hair β’ Red muddied with brown β semi-long, loose curls( ish ) falling down the length of shoulders and past with glimmering silver streaks therein.
Height β’ Five foot (5β)
Weight β’ 118lbs
Other Appearance Characteristics β’ Her skin is somewhat pale like her mother's, although it may also be from the strain of being able to change into a were-being whenever she'd like thanks to her silver blood. Despite her gruff exterior, Baeleiia is similar in physical appearance to her mother, Chauntelle based on their faerie genetics although she has inherited more of her harpy tendencies than her vily core. Like Chauntelle, Baeleiia is petite and is also barely able to truthfully state being five foot tall exactly. She is humanoid: two arms and legs, five fingers and toes; lacking wings as vily cannot take flight but has elongated ears that resemble those of the elves. Her dark eyes mirror her father's, as does the brown that muddies the red of her hair. Despite her halfblooded ancestry ( half vily and half human ) she is very indestructible thanks to the silver blood coursing through her body.
Personality β’ Baeleiia has an angrier side to her than her mother ever had due to the mixture of the harpy's and the werewolf's natures during conceiving. Unlike either of her parents whom were both rather kindhearted; she has a foul mouth, a foul temper and she has a tendency to roll her eyes as most anything said to her. While she doesn't usually like to take shit for an answer, Baeleiia does know when to bite her tongue but has half a mind to insert a snarky comment here and there first; typically landing her into a heap of trouble.
Usually she isn't seen without her "partner in crime," Fhil, a faun who raised her after the events that left her without the care of her parents, after a great battle that took place within Gryfino Forest near the great Palace of Vis belonging to her grand mother, Gaea. Fhil generally attempts to act as her voice of reason, whom tends to be ignored or simply treated as a nuisance or annoyance though deep down is quite cherished by the halfling. She's not entirely certain how to show it, so she refrains. Baeleiia is somewhat estranged from her father, but oft shows deep caring for him whenever he's mentioned to her as she tends to lose her demeanor and go soft. The only things she admits to loving are books of the 21st century, movies and strange music choices here and there.
Unlike her mother, Baeleiia isn't nearly as naΓ―ve as she was. Chauntelle had been confined to the forest when she was growing up, with the Keres' curse weakened, the forest isn't as sealed. Baeleiia, like her mother, is centuries old however she has grown up outside of Gryfino. With the opportunities to read, learn through media and other means, Baeleiia has become more educated than her mother had been β although represents her intelligence somewhat crudely if only through her language choices alone.
Even though they're opposites in some manners, they're similar as well. Both are stubborn and due to being more of the harpy incarnation of the vily blood she is known to have a rather explosive ( quite literal ) temper. As it happens, having the blood of the werewolf within her body is just another means for combat when enraged. When angry, she has been known to change into the proper form of a bird woman and attack in a fit of blind rage. She is just as formidable in her form as a werewolf, as well. Due to the silver blood in her system, she is able to change into the werewolf without the moon's assistance.
Yet another difference is that unlike her vily mother, she cannot perish to a literal broken heart.
SKILLS, POWERS, DEVICES, ETC. β¦
Skills β’ As far as natural abilities that aren't paranormal, Baeleiia doesn't have that many. She's capable of blending into crowds easily from having been taught at a young age to flee from the Moiroi courts. Baeleiia is a fairly stunted individual. Having grown up away from her parents when she was a young child, she closed herself off from others. The only being she knew for a long time in her youth consistently is a satyr, Fhil, whom was to act as her guardian and moral compass. As a result, she turned out to be rather withdrawn and bitter.
The only skills she'd manage to learn and learn it well, were the abilities to run and run fast. To pack up her bedroom with a haste unlike any other and how to hot-wire a car faster than snapping her fingers. These were the essentials in the life of a girl constantly on the run. Fhil had taught her, begrudgingly, how to do so. Ever since she had been a small girl she had been capable of securing a getaway when needed. The Moiroi were always on her ass, no place was safe, no person was to be trusted. They had agents everywhere.
Beyond those, her skill set is fairly limited to the abilities she has due to being the Silver Blooded One.
Powers β’ Baeleiia's powers are based on what form she has taken on, although in her normal, every day state of appearance and being she does have natural abilities that are present at all times thanks to her hybrid bloodline. Due to having werewolf blood within her, Baeleiia has heightened senses and is very alert. Her hearing, sight and smell are all above average and mimic that of a supernatural canine. She also runs faster than a vily would be capable of and is faster than a normal human being as well. She is strong and near indestructible due to the silver blood but she can sustain injuries and has been known to succumb to weaponry β of which she doesn't wield herself. She is unpracticed in martial arts but due to her paranormal level strength, even untrained, she is somewhat chaotic to battle against and can ( and has ) injured herself due to her lack of combat know-how.
As well, due to her silver blood, Baeleiia does not need the aid of the moon to alter her form into that of the werewolf she can manipulate herself into. However, in order to alter her state of self to the harpy that plagues vily, she must reach a peak of blind rage just like all the other vilies of Gaea's blood. The exception being that thanks to the silver blood, Baeleiia is capable of harnessing the harpy's flame without having to be in a state of rage, or being morphed into a harpy. This fire is capable of melting through bones in seconds and, in her world, is incurable should it come into contact with a being. Produced from her fingers whenever she pleases, it is a devastating flame that Baeleiia often turns to in order to threaten those around her.
During the times in which she takes on the form of the silver blooded wolf, Baeleiia retains the heightened senses of smell, hearing and sight. They do not increase any further in this form as she always has her father's wolf tainted blood within her. Similarly to herself at all times, she has augmented strength as a werewolf since the mythical beasts are well known in common rumour to be far stronger than its normal counterpart. When she reforms into the werewolf, she is much more petite than a typically cursed being. Normally, werewolves are known to be much larger than a normal wolf. It is unknown if Baeleiia simply doesn't reflect the largeness due to her petite size as a halfling faerie or if it is just another phenomenon of her silver blood. Her fur, as the wolf, is silver in colour and is reflective as though it were metallic. She stands on all fours unlike most other werewolves in her world.
Part of her abilities as the Silver Blooded One causes her fur to have the capability to harden and become like steel. It cannot be thrown from her body in the same sense that a porcupine can spray its quills, but she can roll, leap or otherwise jump onto a target to shread it, stab it or jab with her hardened fur. She cannot speak any language in this state unless the being(s) around her are canine in nature and those canines can understand said genus' language. ( ie; howls, growls, barks. etc. ) Despite appearances, she retains her mentality in this state. She reforms to the shape of a wolf and is bound by Gaea's law to speak in the canine language, but her mind is unaltered. She is capable of her normal thoughts, feelings and judgments in this state. Just unable to voice them.
In this state, Baeleiia remains near indestructible however flames are the bane of her existence as a wolf. While it will not melt her fur, it can ( at times, dependent on the level of heat from the fire ) cause it to soften, which makes for less effective attacks. Other tactics include her elongated claws and her teeth, of course. These are all close-range combat methods. As a werewolf, Baeleiia cannot fight long range which forces her to be in distressingly close contact with any and all enemies she faces. It should be noted that she has a deep distaste for being able to take on this form at all, as Baeleiia harbours a hatred for wolves due to their nature for hunting her aunts ( and mother ) for being members of the faerie family: vilies. As a halfbreed herself she is less hunted, likely due to her smelling of wolf thanks to her father's blood.
The only other state of being in which Baeleiia is capable of any method of combat is that of the harpy. Harpies are women whom are half maiden, half bird creature with high impulses and severe tempers. When set into a ( blind ) rage, or her temper gets too high, Baeleiia alters her form into that of a woman who's arms become feathered wings, her legs elongate and her feet change into talons. Her hair becomes feathered and her face changes to that of a beaked bird. She is unable to speak in this form and her mind does not function as well as it should due to the anger taking grip of her mind. It is incredibly difficult to calm a harpy as they often fail to recognize friend from foe in their enraged state.
As a harpy, Baeleiia is capable of flight and therefore long range combat comes naturally to her. From her beak she can launch the same devastating flame she is capable of harnessing without being a harpy. Her talons are used for necessary close combat and she is incapable of sustaining injuries brought on by any flames; including her own. Since she is without means to properly keep her head ( mentally ) in this state, she is often capable of being injured β at times from her own unfortunate judgement due to anger. Despite this, her senses are still heightened in this form. She is also remarkably quicker in the air than she is on land, especially as the harpy. She is clumsy in her footing with the elongated claws from her talons which generally keeps her in the air to avoid stumbling around like a drunken canary.
In her typical state, unlike her mother, Baeleiia is unable to remove illnesses ( or bestow them ), heal wounds of any kind or commune with nature on the deeper level that the vily typically can. This had come as a surprise to all when she was old enough to display her potential, even her grandmother Gaea was shocked and had no means to give reason for the inabilities. Similar to her mother, Baeleiia is omnilingual inherently, picking up languages as though they were the simplest of tasks for her to perform. However, like the other vilies, this omnilingualism is only something that affects verbal communication β gaining the ability to speak words does not mean vily can read or write them. It does not translate that way.
Lastly, she has the ability to sense other wolves. This is something that all werewolf blooded in her world can do, it is how they recognize one another and how they seek each other out. She is capable of sensing them at great distances thanks to the silver blood which generally leads her to flee from them.
Devices β’ A cellular phone used, mostly, for contact with Fhil should she get into a scrape in which he is not around. She is capable of driving vehicles though does not ( legally ) own any herself nor does she ( legally ) have a valid drivers permit.
Organizations / Affiliations β’ All-Mother / Gaea, Romulus, Fhil
Enemy Organizations / Affiliations β’ Moiroi Council, Werewolves, Pan, Asterion
Other β’ She speaks with a twang that is not unlike a British accent, far from the same Polish accent her parents had. This stems from having grown up with Fhil from an early age in the slums of England. She, at times, can sound unintelligible due to the severe accent, her ( mostly ) crass nature and the bitterness that drips through her ( near ) every word. Baeleiia has moved around a lot in the vast centuries of her life though due to spending several of her first hundreds of years alive in Britain, the accent seems to have stuck.
HISTORY
The bulk of Baeleiia's life has been spent in a depressive funk which manifests in bitterness and anger. Her birth, literally, is the reason for her misery. She is the product of a coupling that had, until her parents joined together, never happened within the All-Mother's kingdom before. A werewolf fell in love with a vily. Not just any vily, but the Vilyard herself; Chauntelle Nympharum, the future All-Mother. Together, Romulus and Chauntelle managed to seal two of the three Keres sisters within the labyrinth beneath Asterion, King of the Minotaurs' castle. In doing so, the spell of darkness over the forest of Gryfino was broken in the vaguest of senses. With the last Keres sister remaining alongside the Minotaur King, Gryfino remains under a threat but the woods have opened and those once trapped therein are now capable of leaving.
Once peace, in some sense, had settled within the forest, Romulus and Chauntelle were bonded in marriage under the guidance of Gaea, the All-Mother. Soon after marriage, Chauntelle was with child and from the merger of their varying blood, Baeleiia was born. A creature of sole existence, the hybrid daughter of a werewolf and a faerie. As far as they could tell there was nothing out of sorts with the small infant. She grew up as normally as a faerie could within the Palace of Vis, however, on the nights of the full moon just as her father did, the baby altered form into a wolf. The first time the child changed her form, she altered into a small wolf pup silver in colour. It was outside of the norm. Gaea, interested in the strange form Baeleiia changed into, took a keener interest in her granddaughter.
It wasn't until some few years later in the small girl's life did Gaea realize her granddaughter was whom she had had dreams of. A new being of creation other than her own. It had been prophesied by herself, but in her long, long millennia worth of memories, Gaea had lost it to the far corners of her mind. She could only be sure when she checked the child's blood. It was unnecessary, though, as soon after the first time the young child had altered into a wolf, the Moiroi Council arrived at the edge of Gryfino's wood. The Moiroi, phantoms of those long dead whom drew their life energy from the living, had come for the source of great enery. Gaea realized her prophecy had been truth and using her skills in magic and control of her forest, barred them entry from the wood. Once more those within Gryfino were unable to leave, this time however, no one could enter, either.
Baeleiia had within her small body legendary silver blood. It was a rarity that had not yet come to pass until her birth. Baeleiia was the chosen one to stop the Moiroi, end Asterion and free Gryfino from the darkness.
It was a chosen life that the small girl would come to loathe.
Over the years, Baeleiia would grow into a relatively happy young girl. She learned about the faeries, the nymphs, the history of the All-Mother and her once centaur King, Ixion. When she was nearing the ages of adolescence β it happened. With their old magic, the Moiroi Council used rituals of a time lost to ages long before the time of Asterion to break the seal on Gryfino. They had hoped to do so without causing alert to the All-Mother though they failed. She felt the shatter of her spell, and alerting her daughter to hide the chosen silver blooded, called for her armies to raise arms. Blood was spilled. The forest floor wept red and green. Chauntelle, Romulus and Baeleiia fled. With the help of a trusted satyr, Fhilocctees ( or Fhil, for short ) the young family made their way through the forest to the edge of the wood. As much as it pained them, her parents implored that Fhil take their small child to safety so that they could assist in protecting the Palace of Vis from the Moiroi and keep the All-Mother safe.
With reluctance, he agreed. This would be the last time Baeleiia would see her parents for some number of centuries.
It wasn't until Baeleiia was reaching her fifth hundredth birthday that everything went downhill. She had been cut off from those within Gryfino, the activities within Vis were lost to her. Fhil claimed to hear word from her parents now and then but she hadn't spoken to them herself for nearly four hundred and ninety years. Her life, however, had not been an easy one. She was constantly on the run due to the threat of Moiroi. Baeleiia had spent her life fleeing around the cities and countries of Europe, though mostly returned to the slums of London. In total, she had spent more of the centuries of her life therein London, learning from Fhil how to run when necessary and how to hide in plain sight. It was hard with the scent of her blood so easily tracked, though.
Nearing her birthday, Fhil received word from the All-Mother that Baeleiia's assistance was needed to help her parents with a mission. For the first time in nearly five centuries, she was going to see her parents. It took time to travel from London back to Poland, Pomerania specifically in order to get to Gryfino. Once there, even with all the time passed, the reunion with her parents was brief. Chauntelle, ever the cheerful, happy faerie loved seeing her once more. Romulus was thrilled himself but their daughter reacted with minimal joy. She was detached from all the time spent away, running and hiding.
Despite her lackluster arrival, Baeleiia went willingly with her parents and Fhil toward the kingdom in which Asterion made his home. Therein, following a battle that took much, much longer than anticipated. Blood was spilled from both sides. The Keres sisters died after a long battle against the future All-Mother and her husband. Baeleiia assisted in destroying them but β it came with a price. Within the labyrinth wherein the Keres sisters were held, Romulus ended their lives with assistance from his daughter. Chauntelle, ever the pacifist, took no part in the actually killing. With the Keres sisters, all three, finally dead the spell of darkness covering the forest of Gryfino vanished. It was a victorious defeat for the All-Mother's side of the war.
Asterion, however, had no plans to let them go. They were within his realm and his labyrinth.
They were on the way back out when the minotaur attacked. They were taken by surprise and even with her own strength, her father's sword and Fhil's assistance, they failed. The last remaining daughter of Gaea and Ixion, the crown Vilyard, future All-Mother was killed. By the spear of Asterion, Chauntelle Rochefort was impaled. Murdered before her family. Baeleiia, for the first time in centuries, broke down. Her grip on reality was severed. Her mother, the kindest, softest faerie she had ever known, murdered in cold blood β all because a spell had been broken. Asterion fled during their misery.
The group of four returned to the Palace of Vis, wherein a memorial funeral took place for the Vilyard. Gaea's kingdom mourned the loss of their future goddess. With the All-Mother distracted by the loss of her child, the very last of the bloodline from her lost King, the Moiroi took action. The phantoms entered Gryfino seeking the silver blooded. Chaos ensued. Eventually, Baeleiia was forced to return to London, fleeing from the Moiroi yet again.
This time, she maintained contact with her grandmother. It was the only way to speak with the last member of her family she could locate anymore. After Chauntelle's death, Romulus disappeared. Now and then she received word from him. It was few and far between but it was word. With the only person in her life, despite how little she had been in it, who Baeleiia saw as eternally kind dead, she sunk further into bitterness. With Fhil, she continued to hide from the Moiroi as well as she could. The werewolves, without their King Romulus, hunted her as well. Baeleiia was certain it was because she was the last remnant of her father's line. What she did not know was whether or not they wanted her to lead them or to kill her to end the line of leaders. Never had she spent enough time with them to ask.
Just as time went ever forward, so did she. Hiding. Running. Eternally.
Several centuries later, her grandmother that signs of her father being alive had come to light. Initially detached and lacking any desire to find her father as she considered his fleeing abandoning his dead wife and only daughter, Baeleiia met with her grandmother in person whom finally managed to get the young girl to accept her birthright as the silver blooded: the one who was destined to unite the light and the dark. To begin the steps toward doing so, however, she needed to locate her father. Unhappy but willing to help Gaea, Baeleiia and Fhil set off to try and locate the once King of the Lycans.
